the aiki philosophy
aiki wants to make good products for a good price using good materials. we produce our furniture with love and within the soul of the designer. each product is the result of refined craftsmanship and infinite patience. our products are well thought out and refined, both in terms of design and materials. the result? every piece of furniture from aiki lives and passes the test of time.
we use pure, honest materials: wood, steel, aluminum, resin, leather and plywood. they are finished in white texture, black stain and natural soap. this keeps the structure of the materials visible and provides the furniture with a beautiful patina after several years. your aiki furniture grows with you and gets a unique character depending on your care and your use.
our ambition is logical functionality. our products show what they are: a table, a cupboard, a chair, a couch. you decide how to use your aiki furniture: use your table as a dining or working table, cabinet for your files or for decorative items? the choice is yours.
the aiki collection
our collection consists of basic and not so basic furniture.
during the development of the basic collection, we searched for simple furniture for the living and working environment: a table, a chair, a sofa, ... designed to do just what a table, a chair, or a bench should do.
the not so basic collection is the work of one designer, a key contributor to aiki: maarten van severen. many of his designs were created within a logical way of thinking and an experimental use of materials. these two principals of his design can be found in the furniture of the not so basic collection, which we are producing according to the specific methods and guidelines of maarten van severen.
